Have you ever looked at your schedule and thought, How am I going to survive this? So many commitments, responsibilities, projects, events — all stacked on top of each other. It can feel overwhelming.
Recently, I looked at my upcoming schedule and realized I’m going to be extremely busy for the next few months — workshops, programs, travel, creating content, all packed in. At first, I felt that familiar tightening in my chest: This is too much.
But then I stepped back and remembered: I’ve worked like this off and on for decades — and I’m still here. And honestly… I kind of like it.
When people ask me about my work, I always talk about how grateful I am for what I get to do. Helping people develop, learn, and grow is meaningful. So maybe being busy isn’t the problem. Maybe the real problem is forgetting to see the good in the middle of the busyness.
The truth is, being busy can be energizing — if you stay aware of the value in what you’re doing. When we get caught in the momentum, we focus only on the next task, the next appointment, the next deadline — and we lose sight of the purpose behind all of it.
So I’ve made a simple decision: Every day, no matter how busy I am, I’m going to take a moment to look up and notice what’s good — the conversations, the progress, the creativity, the impact.
Being busy is not the enemy . Being busy without meaning is.
Find the good while you're in the middle of the busy, and the busy becomes worth it.
