This one is about seeing your world in a completely new way.
I remember growing up in the Midwest of the United States when I first got my driver’s license. I was thrilled to have freedom, but I also lived in fear. The thing I feared most was the police. Every time I saw a patrol car, I was sure they were looking for a reason to pull me over. I drove constantly checking my speedometer, paranoid that I was doing something wrong.
As I’ve gotten older, my perspective has changed. Now I see the police differently. I realize that if I ever need help, they are usually the ones who will show up first. When I imagine the world without law enforcement, it becomes unimaginable. Without them, we would live in constant fear of every stranger we encountered. Today, instead of fear, I feel gratitude—especially for my brother-in-law, who puts his life on the line so others can be safe.
The point is this: when I was young, it never crossed my mind to look at something I disliked from another angle. Now, when I come across something I don’t like, I try asking myself, What would life be like without this thing I’m complaining about? That question changes everything.
Try flipping your perception 180 degrees. Look at something you dislike and challenge yourself to see it differently. You may find that what once frustrated you now gives you perspective. And that small shift may change your world.
