This one is about risk.
We all know that to be successful in life, we have to take risks. You can’t sit on the sidelines and expect to reach big goals. But often, the possibility of failure makes us hesitate. We think risk has to be big to count — and that’s where we go wrong.
What if risk didn’t have to be huge? What if it were simply a series of small risks, taken consistently over time?
If you had told me twenty years ago that I would speak regularly in front of large groups and make videos like this, I would have laughed. I would have said, No way. I’m an introvert. But I also knew that if I wanted to be successful, I needed to help a lot of people.
Zig Ziglar famously said, “You will get all you want in life if you help enough other people get what they want.” And he was right. Zig also encouraged us to take risks — not dramatic leaps, but meaningful steps.
So I started small.I took a job selling communication training. It was challenging, but possible. Then I took another risk — I started delivering the training I used to sell. Hard again, but a little easier because of the experience I had built.
And step by step, small risk by small risk, I built a career helping thousands of people — something I never imagined when I was standing at the starting line.
Success rarely happens from one big leap. It comes from a series of small, intentional risks — each one opening a door to the next opportunity.
Mark your calendar to take one small risk this week. Then take another next week. That’s how momentum builds. That’s how confidence grows. That’s how big things happen.
