This one is about the compassionate side of stress.
If you’re like me, you have a long list of expectations for yourself every single day. You want to do well at work or school. You want to eat right. You want to show up for the people who matter to you. And all of those small decisions and responsibilities can stack up until life feels heavy or even overwhelming.
But here’s what we often forget: we are stressed because we care.
You care about making a good impression. You care about raising your kids well. You care about the food you choose and the choices you make.
Your stress is evidence of your values.
Some people don’t think deeply about their behavior or their impact—and you can tell. But you do. You’re putting thought, effort, and heart into how you show up in your life. And that deserves recognition.
Give yourself some credit for doing the hard work. Don’t automatically label it as “negative stress.” Instead, look at it as motivation—a sign that you are actively building a meaningful life. A great life doesn’t come without effort. But it is achievable. It’s not about removing challenges. It’s about welcoming them as part of the process.
Your stress is not proof that you are failing. Your stress is proof that you care.
